Eastman Can Do Better
Posted by: jphenderson91 - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (3)

I recently purchased an E20SSV and while it's amazing it has terrible case. Not only does the case give off a horrendous glue smell that taints just about any guitar that is in the case longer than a few minutes, part of the handle snapped the other day. I don't know who is making these cases but in my opinion Eastman needs to switch ASAP.

For context, both my 2017 and 2019 E10D-TC and E20D-TC came with nice cases that had none of these problems. Even as recent as my early 2022 my shipped with a nice case. However, the most recent manufacturer is not cutting it. Eastman can do better, needs to do better.

What case would you recommend for a Eastman slop dread in the $100-200 range? I am not looking to spend a fortune or buy any high end brand name. I just need something that won't have these issues and will fit. What do you all recommend.

AC 122 before the AC series with built in electronics and cutaway
Posted by: john watson - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (2)

Hello - Just wondering if anyone can tell me when the AC series with the cutaway and on-board electronics first came out.  Reason I want to know is because I recently purchased  an older style  AC 122 which was manufactured before these newer versions came out and I'm trying to get an idea of the age of the guitar.  Mine has an open pore finish.  Couple of photos included.
Thanks

Question E10-OOSS vs E1-OOSS?
Posted by: Chillscience - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (8)

I’m looking for a small body 14 fret guitar in the same vein as a Gibson L-00 or Martin CEO-7. I like the idea of the Adi top of the E10, especially if it helps with clarity and low end. However, I also want to be able to play quietly in the evening and worry the E10 may be too much of a cannon. Gloss vs open pore finish is not a concern for me, nor is lack of a hard case (I actually prefer gig bags).

Has anyone played or heard these two side by side? Anyone had issues with the narrow nut width of the 00SS models? Also, anyone played the E10 parlor next to the 00?

  2nd hand buyer help
Posted by: Dan_starkey - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (8)

Hi there,

New to the forum and I'm looking for some guidance/advice.

I have seen a really nice example of a T486B online 2nd hand which is described as a 2017 model (manufactured in mid 2016 going by the serial number).

It looks like it has a natural wood headstock as opposed to the ebony headstock... I haven't seen any other t486s with a natural wood headstock (looks like a dark wood, maybe rosewood going by the picture).

Was it common for 2016/2017 models to have a (gloss) wood finished headstock? The guitar has a COA and the serial number appears to be in line with the format of that time but the natural finish of the headstock just looked a bit unusual (that may well be because I've only recently started looking at them so this may be perfectly normal for that age but I just wanted to double check). I have contacted Eastman but they haven't responded as yet.

I have attached a picture for reference

  E20SS with THERMO-CURED TOP???
Posted by: tenorino - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (5)

Hi,

Saw listing for an E20SS-TC but not aware the model was ever offered with TC or thermo-cured top. Can anyone confirm this version of the E20SS is legit?

Thanks!

Photo FS: E10ss/v (SOLD)

Selling my E10ss/v. It’s an Aug ‘21 build so exactly two years old now. I bought it from an AGF member locally who had the dealer do a setup and plek job on it when it was purchased. Plays great, sounds incredible. No electronics. Couple of things I liked about this one in particular, 1) the elbow rub relic job isn’t as dramatic as some I’ve seen and 2) the nut width on my digital calipers comes in just shy of 1.72. I play a lot of fingerstyle arrangements so that was a big plus. Couple dings and scratches as shown in the photos but overall in great shape. Frets look like new top to bottom.
