Thermocured sunburst slope shoulder models
Posted by: TomC - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (6)

Well this is interesting - Guitar Hotline is showing an E20SS-TC as well as E20 00SS-TC and an E10SS-TC. I don't remember Eastman ever offering TC models with SB. A quick search also shows them in stock at Sound Pure, Muddy River and Penny Lane Music.

  Eastman E40-OM 2018
Posted by: TomC - Forum: For Sale / Trade and Online Deals - Replies (9)

I thought this day would never come, but I am selling my E40OM. It is a 2018 with nitro finish. It is in excellent condition with the exception of two small bumps (one front, one back) and the one check that takes a lot to find. I will send pictures to anyone interested. It has upgraded Schaller tuners, Holter pickguard and K&K passive pick up. I will include the FMI (fossilized mammoth ivory) bridge pins. Includes the OHSC. The top has an exquisite amber hue from aging. There is a John Pearse rosewood armrest that has been on since new. Pictures available upon request. Price is $1600 plus shipping and any fees. Thanks for considering it.

PS - The reason for the sale is I jumped into the deep end of the pool and bought a Collings 0002H, 12 fret Sitka/Rosewood.

  FS: Eastman E10OM-TC
Posted by: PeteD - Forum: For Sale / Trade and Online Deals - No Replies

I've got this posted over on the AGF, which is where I purchased it back in 2020.  This is a great guitar, and I've only been half-hearted on the sale.  But I thought I would throw it up here for $100 off what I have it posted on the AGF for.  So $850 plus half of the shipping cost, up to a total of $50 on my side.  She is in excellent condition, with no major scratches or dings.  This one has a gorgeous figured back and sides, and a nicely colored top with good character.

The pictures from the posting I bought it from are better than my pics.  Can be seen here:

I think this is a great price, and frankly I wouldn't be disappointed to keep it around longer.  So I'm going to stay firm on this pricing. But if it sells, I want it to go to someone who really appreciates Eastmans.

Happy to answer any questions or shoot more pics if anyone is interested.  Let's keep this one in the family!!

Cort Masterpiece Modern Black Acoustic Guitar
Posted by: sleigh - Forum: Other Guitar Brands - Replies (1)

Came across this today: a review of the Cort Masterpiece Modern Black Acoustic Guitar. The reviewer is too enthusiastic and over-the-top for my taste, but this is an interesting guitar, at least from what I can tell from the video. In some ways, it reminds me of my Eastman AC522CE-GB. There's no soundhole on the guitar's top, but two soundholes in the upper side. From what I understand, this guitar is not available in the States, where Corts are nearly impossible to find, but is being sold in Europe and other markets.

I have no idea on the cost. So maybe Alan or someone else could tell us more.

  Paul McCartney's 1961 Hofner 500/1 Bass
Posted by: AlanSam - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (3)

Paul McCartney's first bass guitar – a left handed Hofner 500/1 violin bass - made in 1961 and bought the same year in Hamburg, went missing circa 1969 after the Let It Be sessions. Hofner, with Paul's support is leading a project to find it :-

Has anyone ever played a Hofner 500/1 violin bass? Any good?

Has anyone used one of these? I'm considering it - would love to hear any feedback, or tips/tricks, if folks have some experience with fret leveling beams.

Shameless Self-Promotion: BAND CAMP FIRST FRIDAY SALE
Posted by: sleigh - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (2)

Or is it shameful self-promotion?  Oh well...  Tomorrow (Friday) is Bandcamp's First Friday sale! First Fridays are special on Bandcamp. Here's why (from Bandcamp itself):

"On the first Friday of the month since March of 2020, we’ve waived our revenue share to help support artists on Bandcamp. Over the course of just those 30 days, fans have paid artists and labels more than $106 million USD. If you’re among the nearly 1.6 million fans who have participated, thank you..."

I have several songs on Bandcamp. Here's the link: https://sleighwriter.bandcamp.com -- please feel free to browse my tunes and listen to them. If you like my efforts and want to support me in writing more tunes, why not purchase one or more (or even all)  this Friday? They're certainly inexpensive, and you'll be supporting your local starving artist.

And thanks for your support! (And no, I won't be making this a monthly post--this is a one-off mention, I promise!)

  Which Auditorium model to buy
Posted by: Jamesm545 - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (6)

Anyone have any experience with the grand auditorium models ?
I’m thinking about the 722/822
But I much prefer the Baggs anthem pick up
So that’s only available in the 822
Any one out there got one of these ?
I love the bevel thing . The look of the guitar
Just wondered what anyone else thought.

Learning with an Eastman - New YouTube Channel of a Beginner
Posted by: ShawnEastman - Forum: Guitar Videos - Replies (31)

Hey guys & girls, I'm Shawn... & my surname is.... Eastman.
I'm a beginner & I didn't plan to learn with an Eastman, it just happened. I've got an E1OM.

Anyway... I started learning a little over three weeks ago at the age of 38 (with zero instrument experience) & I'm periodically documenting my progress (started from day 1) with video updates on a new YouTube channel: @NewLifeWithGuitar

I've started with self-teaching via online lessons but hope to introduce weekly in-person lessons in the near future.

First reason for this is so I can of course look back at these in years to come & appreciate this journey we're on of continual improvement - second reason is I think it could prove a collection of useful content for other beginners - both now & in the future - as a sort of reference point or somewhere to get the perspective of another beginner who may be at their current level. I already find it more helpful than you may think to see or hear about other learners struggling with the same things I am & then later explaining how they found ways to overcome this, that & the other.... it has already produced a couple of lightbulb moments in my first 3 weeks... but content from a beginner's perspective seems limited for obvious reasons... we're rubbish & generally want to hide away 'till we're half decent.

Anyway, I'll try to remember to post my updates in here. If any other beginner's want to follow along (as well as any of you more advanced curious minds - I'm sure there's likely to be way more of you here rather than learners) feel free to subscribe & offer words of motivation, advice, or even just to have a general guitar chat!

Thanks in advance to anyone who may be interested...!

For now, I'll plough on with my current week of practice/learning/frustration/enjoyment/finger pain etc... the latest vids of me embarrassing myself are below.
