Seeking feedback on Eastman Mandolins. What are thoughts on quality/playability for the less expensive models?

Was browsing at Sweetwater looking at what acoustic guitars they handle. Lo and behold they're stocking Eastman's, acoustic and electric! They don't have a lot in stock yet, but many are listed. Don't know how long they've been an Eastman dealer, but it's new to me.

I am a long time lurker but don't post very often. This is a very nice place and I'm very excited to share with you my new purchase, an Eastman E1D Special.

Thermo cured solid sitka spruce top, quilted sapele b/s, ebony fingerboard, 1 3/4" nut. True tone gloss finish, hand scalloped bracing.

Sounds like a nice guitar, can't wait to have it here!

Any experience with this guitar?

Got a 2022 E1D with the Toasted Top this week.

My AR805ce tailpiece snapped at hinge. Uk Eastman rep said at least 6 months to get from China. My serial number on the guitar “0016 written “sweet sixteen” on the label. Gordon Roberts gave me the full rundown on the guitar as his signature is on the label. Any help in getting an original piece so gratefully appreciated.All cost covered of course.

Literally just an hour ago I came home with a T486 in cherry. Took me all of 10 minutes in the shop to decide it was for me. Wonderful guitar but still very new-feeling and needs a good few weeks to settle into itself. Looking forward to chatting.

Hi all,

I'm a proud new owner of a T59v as of this weekend. I wanted to replace the strings, and I ran into trouble with the tuner for the low E string. Trying to wind the string, the tuner was occasionally really tight and would pop and unwind a bit. I took the string out and removed the tuner from the headstock to test it completely by itself and found the same issue: the resistance wasn't smooth and would pop/snap every few rotations. I'm assuming it's a random isolated issue, and the tuner is just bad--not sure how or if I broke it myself. I ordered a new set of SD90 Relics and am hoping that I should be able to just replace the one and be all set. Anxiously waiting for them to show up at the end of the week, so I thought I'd double check here to see if you all think my logic tracks or if I should just take the guitar back to the shop for a hopefully complementary repair.
