B string louder
Posted by: Tone1 - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (1)

Hi, I purchased an Eastman AC522 about 6 weeks ago and find that, when plugged in, the B string is a lot louder than the others. I am using it with a thr 30II Electric guitar amp. Can anything be done to stop this?
Cheers

Eastman moving back to Gotoh tuners?
Posted by: Timelessdrifter - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (20)

As the subject asks - Is Eastman moving back to Gotoh tuners on their mid to upper tier acoustics?

I probably spend way too much time on Reverb, but I've noticed a lot of recent 2024 models with Gotoh open back 5xx and 7xx series tuners installed. From the mahogany/sitka series on up the chain, they're coming with Gotoh tuners (in place of Ping).

Am I late to the party, or is that news to anyone other than me?

Bridge Pins - bone - size?
Posted by: DFB - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (2)

I'd like to get a set of FWI pins for my E10ss but not sure of size - I see sites like Maury Music that have them and map sizes to 'large name' brands but no mapping to my beloved Eastman. When I inquired they just said it no listed won't fit. Maybe that's true but seems odd unless Eastman has some really odd ball size.

Just curious if anyone has insight into some nice bone pins they've installed successfully. Would prefer a set with no inlay

  New Eastman OM

I  am new to this forum and Eastman guitars. I have ordered this exact guitar from Sweetwater.com. All my other’s have been Dreadnoughts so thought I would try something a little different. I like playing finger style. I have played at guitar since 1964 but in 1974 switched to bass guitar. I have been wanted to get back into guitar for a bit now. Anyway, here is the guitar’s photos.

  Long scale E40OM

Hey Tom - I noticed you sold your long scale E40OM (congrats on the sale).

Just curious, was the increased string tension the main reason for you (personally) in deciding to move on? I ask as a fingerstyle guy who has often pondered a long scale Eastman...

Hi all - I am dealing with an intermittent issue with my web server hosting. You may see an occasional error message when trying to access EGF; don't be alarmed, I'm trying to squash the issue. Thanks!

  Eastman AC630 String choice
Posted by: c70man - Forum: General Chatter - Replies (5)

I have the recommended 12's on my AC630 Jumbo but I think 13's will make the guitar sound better. Less quacking on the "g" string. I had the guitar plek'd and set up exactly how I like it, but the 12's just seem too light.

Any thoughts out there?

E40xx series guitars with bound fretboards
Posted by: Timelessdrifter - Forum: Eastman Acoustic Guitars - Replies (4)

Quick question for those of you who own a E40 series acoustic with fretboard binding: Are the fretboard edges rolled?

I fell in love with my E6OM-TC, the neck in particular is as seductive and welcoming as any guitar I own (acoustic or electric), with fretboard edges rolled just perfectly. The longer I live with it, the more I like it. It's an amazing guitar.

My E10OO-TC, however, has only lightly rolled edges, and with the size of the neck, could definitely use more, but that's a project for a future date.

So my question - do the necks with fretboard binding, specifically say, an E40OM, have rolled edges?

TIA!
