I'm looking to buy a second hand Eastman AR805 but the old model with the floating KA pickup and walnut finish (please see attached). Unfortunately they seem to be very rare and I was hoping I would get luckier here!

On spruce and mahogany builds I've become particular fond of the martin sp 80/20 bluegrass set....12-56. years ago when martin made the original sp's that was my string in 80/20 or phos depending on the guitar woods....80/20 spruce /hog and phos on spruce / rosewood.
After martin moved their product of strings and many guitars to Mexico those sp strings I loved so well didn't have the same speacil about them they always did when they where made in the Nazareth location....
Well now the new superior performance has got my attention again...I've tried coated strings and either I don't like the traction or they seem to lack a certain something non coated strings have....I use the martin 80/20's bluegrass set on my alveraz master works and I emailed eastman and they gave me the go ahead to use them on my 308 without risking warrenty..the tension on this string set is only 10 more lbs over standard lights...and I tune down slightly..being I'm a finger style blues guy I want to be able to produce a certain snarl out of my strings when I want to....and the martin superior performance Allow to do that...I'm not really sure but I don't feel the added tension at all .... The reason for that is I also have used the d'addario x series with the higher tensil strength ny cores on a few guitars ....but your milage my very ....the martin sp bluegrass set is something to consider ....specially if your a acoustic blue guy....my alveraz master works loves them really does something for the tone of that guitar that was pretty mellow with other strings.....I'm thinking my new eastmen 308 will be equally as awesome with these strings on it .... Yeah I'll be changing strings more often...but I've found with simple steps....it's not bad....wash hands before playing...wipe strings down when down and I use the d'addario xler8 string cleaner seems to work well ..... I can make a set last about 3ish weeks ..not bad...well I could actually go longer but ....well....you know

Since getting my Martin CEO 7 and playing around with a Farida OT-22W, I have been kind of enjoying smaller body guitars. I picked up the CEO 7 in trade for a 000-28EC. I didn't need two spruce/rosewood 000s and I preferred my E40OM. This morning I received my new Eastman E20 00ss/v from LA Guitar. I had played the slope dread version and really liked it with the exception of the 1 11/16" nut. I noticed LA Guitars had two of the 00 version with 1.75" nut. I confirmed it with Ted. He played the two side by side and stated they sounded similar. I went with the one which he felt had a little bit beefier neck.

Similarities:
14 fret 00 body size
Adirondack spruce tops
24.75" scale
Nut - 1.75" give or take on both. The Eastman measures 1.77" the Martin dead on 1.75" although the string spacing at the nut is wider on the Martin than the Eastman.
Weight - both are lighter than I am use to. The Martin is feather light. I don't have an accurate scale to give exact numbers.
Fit/Finish/Quality - I find both to be excellent

Differences
Back and sides - Martin Mahogany (Sipo) - Eastman - East Indian Rosewood
Finish - Martin Nitro - Eastman antique varnish
Neck - Martin soft V (love it!) Eastman - full C (not skinny like my previous E10 00ss/v)
Spacing at the saddle - Martin 2.34"  - Eastman 2.21" (that is outside E - e on both)
Tops - Martin wider grain with some variances - Eastman very tight uniform grain
Saddle - Martin drop-in - Eastman - cut through (I think that is what you call it)
Headstock - Martin paddle - Eastman slotted

I am looking forward to playing these two back and forth. I'll return to this post to add comments as I get a better feel for each guitar. My initial comment would be both project very well with surprising volume from the small bodies. This is going to be fun.

Thought I'd give a classic disco number a spin on my new Eastman AC322CE-SB.

I am interested in the Eastman AC622CE and E1-OM. I love the sound and look of these guitars, based on the YouTube videos I've seen. I am reluctant to buy though because I don't have much information on their neck profiles. I have small hands, so I'm worried the Eastman necks would be too thick. Currently, I play an Epiphone Hummingbird, and I find that neck profile comfortable https://www.epiphone.com/en-US/Acoustic-...urst-Gloss.

Can anyone give me some insight on the Eastman neck profile? How does it compare to my Epiphone or to a Taylor?

I recently bought a AC122-1CE. I'm disappointed in its performance to be honest. It plays well and has a beautiful sound. But I really have some issues tuning it right, especially with the low strings. I can get it more ore less ok using no Capo, but as soon as I go higher on the neck it goes out of tune. First thing I thought was that the neck needs to be straightened, so I went to a guitar repair man. He adjusted it a little bit. No result. So I went back to him and he made some small adjustments but to no result. BTW, I have a very good Capo.

The shop where I bought the AC is bankrupt. So I went to "Fretted" and asked for help, but no reply.

It would be really appreciated if you can give me some advice.

Oh and the AC122 sounds not very well amplified, but that's another story

I have been starting out as an acoustic player the last few years. Still consider myself sort of beginner. Playing mostly rhythm, easy singer songwriter stuff. Nothing fancy. I enjoy myself and start to add singing.

Been noodling around with some electrics just for fun at a friends place recently and enjoyed it. Playing it like an acoustic obv my friend takes the piss but has to agree that it sounds cool. He is more the lead playing typ of guy. Has a strat and a tele.

So in short, I mainly strum. I like those smooth, warm tones. Maybe a bit bluesy. Wonder how a semi or fully hollow body would feel.

A) does it make sense playing an electric that way?

B) if so, which Eastman (or in general) model would suit best?

C) I‘d like something very simple, tone and volume, nothing fancy.

I hope this threat isn‘t ‚stupid‘, I really don‘t know much about electrics.

Being new to Eastman , I gotta ask . I just got a 308 limited edition..love it!!! And would literally hate myself if I screwed it up.

I'm a finger style blues guy....and I'm a fan of the martin 80/20 bluegrass string set. 12-56. Basically the 2 high strings are your standard 12,16 lights ...then the 4 wound strings mediums. I also have pretty much adopted 432 tuning instead of standard 440.

Also something else my Eastman 308 has a 24.9 scale length as opposed to 25.5 which at least by a string tension calculator reduces the tension as well....

Given those perimeters 24.9 scale , 432 tuning do you think my Eastman 308 would handle those 12-56 set strings.

I've not been able to find a tension calculator to adjust for 432 tuning so I can't quite get any numbers to base a desession on.

I know the 308 came with lights 12-53 , but I do prefer the added thump and tone of the mentioned bluegrass string set....to my ear it does make a noticeable difference.... And with the scale length and tuning I can't feel that normal medium gauge finger killing tension.

Any thoughts?
